(first of all, sorry for my delay, I’m a doctor and I’ve been working in covid emergencies and that pushed me away from writing, wrongly I know…:/ But here I am again! :) )

Halt and Refresh Painting — Raphael Crump

You’re ticking me in all the right boxes

every day, every hour, every minute

Should I run from you? to you?

My fear of breaking drowns my courage

Such a new feeling to deal with

Arousing my forgotten demons

and igniting bad behaviours

I thought I had learned to kill

You mess me up really bad

with that enchanted chasing

Are you serious about what you want?

Or are you just playing with odds?

Because if you are

Careful, we can both be burned

and never return to what we were again

we will stain each other permanently

with a aureolin dot on our chest

like a path of light revealed

I’m passing every red light to keep you

ripping my safety codes and dreaming

Will it be worth it?

Will you come with me?
