“I will not try to convince you to love me, to respect me, to commit to me. I deserve better than that; I AM BETTER THAN THAT…Goodbye.”

― Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

You could have warned me you wouldn’t stay
That you would randomly jump from friend to friend
Leaded only by your interests and immediate needs
Of comfort, ego boosting and confidence increase
It’s hard to recognize it just because in the beginning
When I wasn’t attached
I saw it clearly and I thought to myself
be careful.

But I slowly got caught in your slow spider web
Until now that I know for sure, feeling unwanted
I will stop trying and move on
I will stop bothering you with my contacts and concern
Like I did when I felt weird like this in the past
When I came to this same point
of realizing I made a bad investment
and turn my resources to what really matters.

I wish you well
Hope your life brings you what you need
Thank you for teaching me once more
That you shouldn’t open your heart so quickly
Or trust so openly
Thank you for all the moments
When it seemed it was real.
And goodbye, be happy.
